Burger Edge's Okker Burger is a top little Aussie. Not the kind of Aussie who parades around Cronulla draped in the Australian flag - bogan juice in hand - and offering the 'metal salute' to passing television cameras, but a more stoic, manly, ANZAC of an Aussie. The kind of Aussie who wouldn't hesitate to help his injured mate Blue cross a thousand miles of jungle under enemy fire, just so he could share one last burger with his regiment.

The Okker is big beefy two-hands kind of burger filled with some very Australian ingredients. Some deliciously smoky beef and bacon contrast well with the sweetness of the beetroot and pineapple. The egg is perfect and the aioli is tasty but not overpowering. There's a lot of choice here too, with several buns, multiple chip seasonings and a stack of dipping sauces to choose from. You can even get an old-school spearmint milkshake!

Do your patriotic duty and go the Okker.

Awful, Awful, Awful...... By far one of the worst burgers of all time. Too much Aioli, meat pattie tasted wierd, not much lettuce. The Chips were quite good but it did not make up for wasting my hard earned money on something that tasted like a hyena threw up in a blender then fed it to a yak. :-(

Maybe that day it was just bad but it was enough to convince me not to every eat there again.

Sorry guys, the truth hurts.

Wowee, I am gradually working my way through the menu with my colleagues, we have been blown away every time! Fantastic burgers. They somehow manage to be really big and tasty, but healthy at the same time.

It's a crying shame there's a big queue of people waiting 15 minutes for an average burger upstairs at Grill'd when this far superior place hides downstairs. Oh well, at least we don't have to wait!

Oh and how could I forget the chips - superb!

I have tried a lot of burgers that are supposedly 'The best in Melbourne' and been fairly dissapointed - especially when compared to some of the quality you can get in New Zealand, but Burger Edge is defintely number 1 in Melbourne for me... (thus far)
