Flipps advertise themselves as "Healthy Lifestyle Eating". This phrase sounds like a bad Japanese translation, and I'm not sure how healthy their beer and deep fried chips are, but far be it from me to judge anything apart from their burgers. All good burger places need to have points of interest. Beer for sale, wide screen plasma television, ridiculously heavy old farm-styled conveyor belt that slowly moves the burger over a flame grill; Flipps has it all. The burger was described as "100% lean". We're not sure what that actually means, perhaps something was left out when it was also translated from Japanese, but who cares when it tastes this good! A variety of buns to choose from, use of Spanish onions and the inclusion of beetroot always helps, however the need for a balancing skewer did affect their ability to score highly for 'Stuctural Integrity'. Flipps has all the ingredients for a great burger and the final product is great. Besides, there aren't many places I know of where you can truthfully claim "But honey, they have the '100%-lean-healthy-lifestyle-eating' kind of burger!" and then sneak off for a cheeky beer. |
