Editor review

Once upon a time Clifton Hill's only claim to fame was the unusually high proportion of lesbians living within its borders. Now it can add another accolade to its short list of accomplishments - one of the top ten burgers in Melbourne.

We've sampled What's Fishin' offerings many times now, and never have we walked away disappointed. In fact, the burgers here just seems to get better and better. The 'lot' has a jucy meat pattie with subtle herb flavours. The crispy pattie edges combine with shredded iceberg lettuce to give a satisfying crunch. Smoky flavoured bacon is just the right kind of lean and the egg is soft but not runny.

This is a no-frills burger that puts everything where it should be to give you a meal much greater than the sum of its parts.

These guys do such a great burger, and yet just about no-one has heard of them. For me, the best part is the beef. They add some kind of herbs to their patties that really bring out the flavour.

This is a true burger. Not one of the franchised, cliched, trend burgers you get from the so called burger shops that have popped up over recent years.

I've tried most of the burgers on this site (all of the franchises). This burger wins in my opinion (hands down).

Great flavour, texture and value!

I make a special trip to Clifton Hill once a month or so and I'm never disappointed.

YUM!

Plain burger with egg an beetroot (a burger must).
